March Check-In: My Year Isn’t Canceled.

Self Love

Hello World! Hope everyone is holding up from this quarantine we are all facing. If you don’t know, our world has been effect by a deadly virus called coronavirus disease or COVID-19. Schools, restaurants, bowling alleys, gyms, and many more establishments are currently closed to prevent the spread of the disease. If you are anything like me, you may be glued to your phone, tracking the news paper articles because there has been so much uncertainty. There has been so much information thrown my way, I feel as if my brain is going to explode! With that being said, I think it’s pretty healthy to step back from the news articles and focus on something positive to get us through this quarantine.

Heres some tips to help you survive the quarantine:

Limiting the amount of social media you take in on a daily basis is helpful to keep you centered and on focused on positive thoughts. I personally find myself spending too much time on my social media outlets and as a results, I tend to feel drained and overwhelmed with the problems of the world. Cutting back is a necessity.

Exercise and mediation is a great outlet to release negative thoughts and emotions. Since I’ve been home from work, I have a little bit more free time to enjoy working out at home. I always feel ten times better when I am done exercising and meditating. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself!

Music is therapy. At least for me it is! Try listening to your favorite tunes to lighten up the mood. I personally don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my music. It is definitely a stress reliever for me.

Check up on friends and family during this time. Its always good to hear from loved ones. With everyone being busy with life, we tend to get caught up in meaningless things and over look precious moments. Take time to enjoy the people who are in your life and embrace their presence. Be in the moment. Remove distractions and enjoy the moment.

Writing things down is also a great outlet to help express your feelings. I like to write notes in my phone personally. It is convenient and I always have the notes to refer back to. I also write in my journal ideas and thoughts that may come across my mind.

Prayer keeps me centered. With these trying times, I think it is important to have a relationship with the higher power. I’ve been in so many unfortunate situations during my life on this Earth, but God has never left my side. Even when I wasn’t always doing the right thing, He was always there to guide me. He is truly an awesome God!

I hope these tips were helpful and that everyone stay safe and well during this time! Until next time, XOXOXO.
